Geoinformation system "Arсtiсa-M"

The system of operational monitoring of hydrometeorological phenomena "GIS" Arсtiсa-M " was developed in the Far-Eastern Center of State Research Center for Space Hydrometeorology “Planeta”.

GIS "Arсtiсa-M" was developed to provide the near-real-time results of the thematic data processing of the Arсtiсa-M No. 1 satellite. GIS provides obtaining global and regional maps of cloud parameters and the earth's surface of the Far North regions according to the data of the visible and infrared spectral ranges, meteorological parameters of cloud calculated according to the MSU-GS device, and forecast data.

The high frequency of data acquisition, near-real-time access to data and the provision of information products in the form of cartographic web services make it possible to use the GIS "Arсtiсa-M" to solve operational and prognostic problems. It also makes it possible to reduce the time for informing authorities at various levels about changes in the hydrometeorological situation and the state of the environment for timely response and management decisions.

The data of the highly elliptical spacecraft "Arсtiсa-M" No. 1 are available during the day twice for 6 hours (working segment of the orbit) with a break between them also 6 hours. The continuous view will be available after the launch of the “Arсtiсa-M” No. 2 satellite.

Main consumers: Rosgidromet (Hydrometeorological Center of Russia, Situation Center, Far Eastern UGMS, etc.), Ministry of Defense of Russia, EMERCOM of Russia, administrations of the Far Eastern Federal District.

REGIONAL SYSTEM "GIS "METEO DV"

The regional system for operational monitoring and forecasting of hazardous hydrometeorological phenomena "GIS" Meteo DV " was developed at the Planet Research Center in cooperation with the Far Eastern UGMS and FERHMI. The system solves the problems of automating the processes of storage, processing and complex display of various types of information in the Far East region of Russia: meteorological, hydrological and aerological observations, forecast model data, environmental and geophysical information, satellite products.

Provision of information products in the form of cartographic web services can significantly reduce the time for informing authorities at various levels about changes in the hydrometeorological situation and the state of the environment for timely response and management decisions.
